Don't think of the past...

(On Normandy, Amelia is laying down in her bed. Wrex comes in, looking angry.)

Amelia: Bout time you joined me.

Wrex: Amelia, why did you let the rachni queen live?! You know she was just trying to "sing" her way out of it so that she could have history repeat itself! And you let her go! Do you know what my people had to go through to kill those damn spiders?

Amelia: She's NOT a bad mother, Wrex! They're not mindless little insects that need to be crushed! She said it herself; that those "children" were not really hers! Other people were raising them without her consent to become their tools! What SHE wants to do is raise her children RIGHT so that there WON'T be any more wars!

Wrex: Were you there? Did you fight them? Did you sacrifice so many and triumph to be known as a savior just for killing those things? If we were to fight them again, we'd be outnumbered! Who would save them this time?

Amelia: There will be no "this time!" Not everyone is blinded by history, Wrex!

Wrex: Fine! But I can promise you that if that DOES happen again, I won't be there to help you!

Amelia: And I promise you it WON'T, so don't turn against me for something that will not happen! I'm trying to save lives, not wipe them out! I need to listen to what people think of the future, not of the past!

Wrex: ...

Amelia: Did you hear what Liara said? Even I don't know her very well, but she was damn right about you. You are blinded by your war stories. And if you are, Wrex, I'm sorry, but I won't support you or your people... and you can forget about family planning.

Wrex: Say what you will! I already told you I work best on my own...

Amelia: ...Then who's gonna bring you home? Tell me. Who's gonna find a cure and support you? Who's gonna make your people stronger beside you? Who's gonna help guide your people in the right direction, away from those wars in history?

Wrex: ...*sigh* Don't try to make me cry, Amelia...

Amelia: *She hugs him* Come on, hun. What I did wasn't to make you angry and it wasn't anything personal. I just knew it was the right thing to do. I know how you feel about the wars, and I know you want them to end. Don't think I don't know any better. I just want you to trust me.

Wrex: ...I do. I just... *sigh* Bad memories. You can't blame me.

Amelia: I don't. But when we go home, everything will be better. And you can forget about those wars.

*He rubs her head and they hug tightly*

Amelia: I love you....

Wrex: *Chuckles* And I love the way you put up with me.
